This subscription fee constitutes a donation to the work of the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC), a non-partisan, not-for-profit international organisation that works to solve environmental problems in this region. The REC promotes cooperation among non-governmental organisations, governments, businesses and others, and supports the free exchange of information and public participation in environmental decision making.

The REC offers complimentary subscriptions to green HORIZON to selected environmental stakeholders from Central and Eastern Europe. Eligibility is open to non-profit organisations, local and national authorities, businesses, academic institutions and journalists who cannot afford the subscription donation.
