REC hosts EECCA organisations Print E-mail
by Green Horizon
Wednesday, 23 April 2008
For one week at the beginning of February, the REC hosted 19 staff from two regional organisations from the EECCA region: the Central Asia Regional Environmental Center (CAREC) and Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus. The visit was part of a project sponsored by the German Ministry for Environment, Nature Protection and Nuclear Safety. Using the REC as a blueprint for foundation, Caucasus REC and CAREC were established also by taking into account local situations and operating environments. Because REC Caucasus and CAREC largely mirror the REC both in mission and structure, it was agreed that a knowhow exchange between the three organisations would not only enhance management capacities, but would also stimulate further organisational cooperation efforts.
