On the move

Head Office

  New to the REC this fall is ANN TARTRE from Maine, U.S., who will substitute BETSY HOFFMEISTER as Grants Officer in the Grants Department. Betsy becomes the Grants Manager for the REC's new EcoLinks Program, while CERASELA STANCU, from the Ecologist Youth of Romania, becomes its new Grants Officer.

  SERGIU SERBAN, a 1995 REC Junior Fellow, has returned to Hungary from his native Romania to serve as the Local Office and Outreach Department's (LOOD) officer.

  Also joining the REC, as local coordinators for the Bosnia Project, are AIDA ALIBALIC, who coordinates the Federation side of the project out of the REC's Sarajevo local office, and DJORDJE STEFANOVIC, who opened a Republika Srpska project office in Banja Luka.

  Two new interns sent special delivery from Vancouver, Canada, by the Winnipeg-based International Institute for Sustainable Development are BRONWEN GEDDES and ALYSIA DAVIES.

  ANDREA TOTH joined the REC this fall as a bookkeeper in the Finance Department while ANNA DANKOVICS has joined the maintenance staff.

  OLINKA GJIGAS has taken a big career leap, leaving LOOD to become a project manager in the Information Exchange Department.

  DIANA BARBU is moving from the Energy Efficiency Project to become project manager for the REC's new climate change project.

  And VERONIKA DIVISOVA was promoted from LOOD assistant to LOOD outreach officer.

  RICHARD MULLER is leaving his position as coordinator of the NGO Participation in the Danube Pollution Reduction Programme in order to fulfil his patriotic duties in Slovakia.

Local Offices

  EVA IZSAK joined the Hungarian Local Office as a project officer. MORANA BELMARIC has moved up to acting-local representative in the Croatia Office. Also in Croatia, JASNA MALUS was hired as the new Financial Assistant. CATALIN GHEORGHE has taken over as the new representative for the Romania Local Office. And the REC says farewell to ANA JORDANOVSKA who ends her post as assistant in the Macedonia Office for maternity leave in January and VALENTINA NICOLAE who will leave the Local Office in Romania.
