BOSNIAN ENTITIES SIGN THE 'SZENTENDRE AGREEMENT' AT REC HEADQUARTERS

The biggest news of late was the arrival of environment ministers JOVO BASIC from the Republika Srpska and IBRAHIM MORANKIC from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with their entourages, to the REC. The officials from the two "Entities" of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed an agreement to work together on joint environmental policy (please see story on page 18).

Other summer guests included then-Deputy State Secretary in the Hungarian Ministry of Environment KLARA AKOTS who visited REC Head Office to attend the Determine Telematics Conference.

SALLY HODGSON, Development Officer for the International Broadcasting Bureau, working with Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, came to the REC in July to meet with Executive Director Jernej Stritih.

In August, GERT VAN DER MEER, CLEES VAN OIJEN and FRANS VAN DER LOO of the European Postgraduate Course in Environmental Management (EPCEM) dropped by to discuss a joint project to establish a network of environmental managers and policy-makers in the CEE region.
