Let a hundred fellows bloom

With the latest group of fellows, arriving this month, the REC marked a milestone in the program's history. One of the REC's most popular initiatives, the Junior Fellowship Program has now hosted over 100 young environmentalists from Central and Eastern Europe.

The program began in 1993 as a way to help build capacity among young members of environmental NGOs in the region. Fellows between the ages of 20 and 30 visit REC head office for one month to receive training and get practical experience in such areas as proposal writing, presentations, networking, project management, computer applications and fundraising. Making up the group of fellows are: Milena Angelova from Bulgaria, Adam Buczkowski from Poland, Jordan Damcevski from Macedonia, Dagmar Lohan from Germany/Belgium, Tiina Naber from Estonia, Maja Roglic from Croatia, and Laszlo Tamas from Romania.
