Money makes REC go round

REC received a grant for SF 1 million from the Swiss government in 1995. The grant is a result of the REC's new international status and impending move to Szentendre. It is not the first time the Swiss government has donated money to the REC. They have been very supportive of the REC's activities almost from very the beginning.

The Austrian government has pledged AS 800,000 to fund part of the REC's Business Information Service. A portion of the money will be used to fund a project officer who will oversee the expansion of the already successful initiative. The remaining funds will finance a research project on environmental technologies.

LOOT received USD 130,000 from the Danube PCU to continue the Danube Grants Program. LOOT has also been encouraging local office representatives to secure their own sources of funding.

The Finnish government has donated USD 50,000 a year for three years to finance the operation of REC local offices in the Baltics.
