The Dutch government sent its minister of the environment, MARGARETHA DE BOER, to the REC on 11 May. She came to learn more about the REC's ongoing projects, especially the public participation program the Dutch government is supporting.
ELINOR CONSTABLE, the U.S. assistant state secretary for oceans, international environment and scientific affairs, visited the REC on 9 May. She received a briefing on the REC's current activities.
May also saw GEORGE HAMILTON, the executive director of the Institute for Sustainable Communities, and JILL ARACE, the ISC's project director for institutional capacity building, including EMTCs, visit the REC. The REC and the ISC are partners on the EMTC Network project.
While traveling in the Region on a mission to evaluate PHARE-sponsored programs, the ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE OF THE HOUSE OF LORDS stopped by the REC on 27 April for a presentation on the new Business Information Service.
