The REC is inviting leading Central and Eastern European experts to work on an environmental issue they have selected. Their work is expected to contribute to solutions to environmental problems in areas such as environmental policy, legislation, and management.
Senior fellows will have the opportunity to use the REC's resources during a short sabbatical-type leave at the REC. The REC will develop a customized program for each fellow according to his or her individual field of interest to enable him or her to work independently. A project coordinator is designated to assist each fellow and to organize a professional program during the fellowship. At the beginning of the fellowship, fellows will be requested to hold a lecture summarizing the new areas of their topic, targets to be achieved, and methods to be used.
The REC will pay all travel and accommodation costs (including one visit to one of Hungary's neighboring countries), and will give fellows a modest stipend. The REC will provide fellows with adequate working conditions at its head office in Budapest.
WHO CAN APPLY?

Applicants should have proficiency in spoken and written English, basic computer literacy, and a post-graduate degree or equivalent experience in the environmental field. Eight years of work experience with environmental organizations is necessary.
