THE REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER
for Central and Eastern Europe
Senior Fellows
The Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe is
now accepting applications for Senior Fellows who would like to work at
its Head Office in Hungary (with visits to neighboring countries) for
two to four weeks between 19 February and 30 June 1995.
The REC is inviting leading Central and Eastern European experts to
work on an environmental issue they have selected. Their work is
expected to contribute to solutions to environmental problems in areas
such as environmental policy, legislation, and management.
Senior fellows will have the opportunity to use the REC's resources
during a short sabbatical-type leave at the REC. The REC will develop a
customized program for each fellow according to his or her individual
field of interest to enable him or her to work independently. A project
coordinator is designated to assist each fellow and to organize a
professional program during the fellowship. Fellows will be requested
to submit a written report summarizing the results of their work and to
present this report in a lecture.
The REC will pay all travel and accommodation costs (including one
visit to one of Hungary's neighboring countries), and will give fellows
a modest stipend. The REC will provide fellows with adequate working
conditions at its head office in Budapest.
